DJ and Jenny later meet up in the basement and decide to just get out of the house. Jenny explains that the chandelier is the uvula, and it stimulates the gag reflex and everyone has a uvula. Chowder is a chubby 12-year-old boy with blonde hair and blue eyes. In the Gameboy Advance version of the video game adaptation of the film, DJ describes him as huge. The next morning, Halloween, Chowder glimpses a red-haired girl, Jenny Bennett, selling chocolates. Infatuated, he murmurs "Hello.", getting DJ's attention, leading him to take a look at her, becoming infatuated as well.

Elizabeth "Zee"

One of the spooky archetypes of childhood imagination — the dark, mysterious house across the street — is literally brought to life in “Monster House,” a marvelously creepy animated feature directed by Gil Kenan. DJ Walters is an intelligent and suspicious boy who is known for spying on Nebbercracker through a telescope in his bedroom, where he becomes convinced that there is something wrong with the house that belonged to Nebbercracker. He was treated overprotectively by his parents, which makes him to think that he is crazy and starts to act like a grown-up. He is shown to be artistic as he adds art pictures on his bedroom walls and sketches on his list when a toy gets taken by Nebbercracker if a child strolls onto his lawn. Nebbercracker was at first angry after he has discovered the truth, but eventually relents and tell them both his and Constance's story.

But Chowder is stunned to know that DJ does not want to go trick or treating as he thinks he is getting too old for it. At the end of the film, Chowder thought that DJ was right that he is too old for trick or treating, but DJ thought he can go trick or treating as it would cheer Chowder up and it did. Later, the children in their Halloween costumes are lined up at the remains of Nebbercracker house, where DJ, Chowder, and Jenny help him return all of the toys to their owners, including Eliza's tricycle. Jenny is one of the three main playable characters in the video game based on the film, alongside DJ and Chowder. Nebbercracker then lashes them out to leave, but his wrath was quickly changed into worries as he realized that kids would be approaching his house. He then starts walking towards his house which somewhat became gentle to him.

Main characters

For the most part adults in the film are either absent, incompetent or nasty, giving tweens little incentive to rely on them when trouble arises. We’re shown a bottle of urine as the boys argue about who generated it. The deceitful Zee acts sweet until she knows DJ’s parents are gone, at which time she morphs into her punked-out, abusive self. She even conspires with Jenny to cheat DJ’s parents out of the emergency cash they left for her.

Upon awaking he receives ominous phone calls from the abandoned house. On two occasions, boys get knocked to the pavement by automobiles. The rumor around town is that Nebbercracker killed and ate his wife.

They fall into the basement and find an enormous collection of toys accumulated from Nebbercracker's lawn, as well as a locked cage that DJ opens with a key he found on the lawn. DJ, Chowder, and Jenny force the house to vomit them outside by grabbing onto its uvula. Aware that Constance's vengeful spirit made the house come alive, Nebbercracker tried to keep people away by pretending to be a child-hating old man.

He is a 12 year old boy who is known for spying on Nebbercracker through a telescope. DJ arrives at the construction site where luxury tower apartment buildings are being built there, he finds Chowder in an excavator making stupid noises and he tells him to shut up. As they talk, Chowder accidentally starts the engine until DJ takes the keys out and says that he needs Chowder's help, which Chowder reluctantly agrees. Jenny has ginger hair done up into braided pigtails with red ribbons and green eyes.

He appears to suffer a heart attack and is presumed dead by the duo as he is taken away in an ambulance. After discovering the remains of Constance and a failed attempt to destroy the furnace, the house's heart, DJ, Chowder, and Jenny are separated again by three giant pipes. They end up having to fight their way through the house, dealing with more enemies as they traverse the corridors. After escaping from the house, due to Jenny pulling on the uvula, they are chased by the house to a construction site, where Chowder fights the house, as the final boss, with a backhoe.

DJ eavesdrop on Zee's boyfriend Bones, who tells Zee about losing his kite on Nebbercracker's lawn when he was younger, and that Nebbercracker supposedly ate his wife. The next morning, Jenny Bennett is on the street selling Halloween chocolates. DJ and Chowder see her going to Nebbercracker house, and they rush out to warn her, managing to catch her before she is eaten by the house.

Jenny escapes from the vents and finds herself dealing with a living TV, and a huge Constance doll controlling a chandelier, the game’s first boss. Afterwards, Jenny makes her way to the top floor, where she deals with a live stove, uses a train set to reveal a secret passageway, and fixes a dumbwaiter, which she uses to make her way to the basement. DJ later finds Jenny trapped in the vents while exploring the second floor; after rotating the room they are in, he tries to free her, to no avail, requiring Jenny to find another way out. Jenny was worried for DJ as she thought he was killed when he fell down into the house's basement and when he was nearly killed by a hijacked ambulance (which had Nebbercracker aboard).

She has a romantic, soft side as she managed to convince DJ to climb onto the crane's arm by kissing him passionately. Each time the titular two-story serial killer claims another victim, I heard unprepared little ones in the audience whimper louder or wail to the point of distraction. Chowder steals mass quantities of cough syrup from his father so that he can “drug” the haunted house before entering it. A small dog who has the misfortune of getting eaten by the Monster House the moment it sets foot on its lawn.

Unfortunately, he is caught by Nebbercracker, who seemingly suffers a heart attack and dies while confronting DJ. A shocked Chowder and DJ watch as Nebbercracker is taken to the hospital by ambulance. The house breaks free from its foundation, with trees to support it (the arms), and chases the group to a nearby construction site. During the film’s climax, as the house tries to eat Nebbercracker, Chowder fights the house off with an excavator, causing it to fall into a pit. DJ is given the dynamite, and he and Jenny climb to the top of a crane while Chowder distracts what was once Nebbercracker house.

Chowder provides a dummy filled with medicine that should cause the house to sleep long enough for them to douse the furnace. The plan almost succeeds, but Officers Landers and Lester arrive and thwart it. Landers discovers the cold medicine inside the dummy, which Chowder took from his father's pharmacy, and arrests them. The cops place the trio in the police car while they examine the house.

Dogs urinate on a lawn and a lit jack-o-lantern (thus extinguishing it). As crisp orange leaves blanket DJ’s suburban neighborhood the day before Halloween, his portly pal Chowder ponders what costume he’ll wear on the big day. But DJ is preoccupied with other things, specifically a cranky neighbor who bolts from his rickety house to chase children off his property and take their toys.
